JOINT STATEMENT OF THE ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACY AND PROGRESS (ADP) OF COLLECTIVE POLITICAL PARTIES FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE TRANSITION (Collective) AND REPUBLICANS CLUB (CDR)

ADP, the Collective and CDR inform their members and supporters and all freedom loving citizens of Guinea who are concerned about the democratic future of our country, that the march of February 18 is maintained on the planned route from the Airport Conakry-Gbessia to the esplanade of the People’s Palace and throughout the national territory.  On February 19, 2013, the opposition calls for a national strike.

The reasons given by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (Alhassane Conde) to prohibit such demonstrations are illegal and can not be selected.

This is why ADP, Collective and CDR call all Guineans who love justice and democracy to mobilize strongly to ensure success in these peaceful demonstrations throughout the national territory.

They invite state security forces to demonstrate republican spirit in accordance with the provisions of our Constitution, which states in Article 6 that no one can claim to have received an order to justify any violation of human rights.

The ADP, the Collective and the CDR remind that they will not give in to any form of intimidation in their struggle for the advent of a State in Guinea respectful of human rights and democratic principles.
