Amadou Dioulde Diallo, 18, Beaten to Death by State Security: Ask His Parents About Conde’s Plan for “Reconciliation”

October 3, 2011

Amadou Diallo, 18, attended the September 27 peaceful protest against the Conde administration, organized by the country’s opposition collective.  Neither he, nor his family, ever thought that when he left for the protest that morning that he would never return home again.  Diallo was beaten to death by security forces and died of massive internal injuries. Hi body was so horribly beaten that the military wanted to disappear his body to prevent others from seeing the brutal nature of his injuries.

In most countries, the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of speech is respected.  In Guinea, it appears that a peaceful protest is nothing but an opportunity for the use of state-sponsored violence against fellow citizens.  And now, Conde wants “reconciliation.”  Go ask Amadou Diallo’s parents what they think.
