Guinea: Fear of Death Squad Action Against Opposition Party Leaders, Plus Conde Due to Meet with Obama in DC, July 29

Guinean websites are reporting that leaders of parties in opposition to Alpha Conde may be targets of government death squads.

The UFDG, party of Cellou Dalein Diallo, reports on its website there is growing evidence that the lives of opposition leader are in serious danger.  UFDG is in possession of a “blacklist,” established by the government, that contains the names of at least five opposition leaders to be targeted.  They are as follows:

1.       Mouctar Diallo, Président du parti « Nouvelles Forces Démocratiques » (NFD) ;

2.       Etienne Soropogui, Vice-Présidents des NFD ;

3.       Dr Faya Millimono, Directeur de Campagne (2010) du parti « Nouvelles Générations pour la République » (NGR) ;

4.       Dr Fodé Oussou Fofana, Vice-président et Directeur de Campagne (2010) du parti « Union des Forces Démocratiques de Guinée (UFDG) ; et

5.       Bah Oury, Vice-Président de l’UFDG, qui est d’ailleurs porté disparu depuis le 19 Juillet, vers midi.

AND, Africalog is reporting that Alpha Conde will meet with Barack Obama in Washington at the White House on July 29.
