Guinea Seeks Debt Payment, Plans Port Expansion, Minister Says

Guinea’s government wants all debtors to pay money owed to the state within one month, said Information Minister Dirus Diale Dore in a statement broadcast on Radio Television Guineenne.

The payments will allow the West African nation to “cover state debts quickly,” Dore said in the statement yesterday, without giving details. Guinea also plans to expand the country’s main port at Conakry, the capital, he said.
