While the US Urged Guinea to Stick with Oct. 31 Election Date, Konate Signs Decree Establishing Election Date of Nov. 7
The November 7 date is set in stone and come hell or high water it will not be changed — both candidates agreed to the date and the condition that it would not be changed.
Tomorrow, both candidates will travel to areas that suffered very serious violence over the last week — Siguiri, Kissidougou, and Mamou which had an outbreak of violence as late as today.
In a press briefing at the State Dept. today, spokesman P. J. Crowley said the US urges Guinea to go to the polls on October 31 and not postpone the election.
