Presidential Candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo Receives 60.65% of Vote from Guineans in Cote d’Ivoire

Guinean presidential hopeful Dalein scores 60.65% in Cote d’Ivoire
APA-Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) The results of the Guinean presidential polls in Cote d’Ivoire have given 60.65% of the vote cast to Cellou Dalein Diallo of the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG), followed by Alpha Conde of RGP with 21, 55%, said a reliable source in the Ivorian economic capital.
According to this source, the UFDG candidate scored 11,429 votes or 60.65%. Professor Alpha Conde follows with 4,061 votes or 21.55%. Lansana Kouyate of Hope Party for National Development (SARP) got 1,752 votes or 9.30% while Sidya Toure of the Union of Republican Forces (UFR) gathered 617 votes or 3.27%.
The number of voters in the municipalities of Abidjan was as follows : 1,515 in Cocody, 2,146 in Koumassi, 2,130 in Adjame, 1,924 in Youpougon, 2,212 in Abobo, 1,477 in Marcory, 1,074 in Attécoubé, 4,022 in Treichville and 735in Port Bouet.
In other parts of the country : 4,000 people voted in Bouake, 761 in San Pedro, 750 in Daaloa, 346 in Yamoussoukro and 979 in Gagnoa.
The elections, termed as first historic and democratic polls since the independence of Guinea in 1958, create a lot of hope among many Guineans living in Cote d’Ivoire.
The first results are expected on Wednesday after the final tally of all votes in these polls with 24 candidates.
